The Small and Surprisingly Dangerous Detail The Police Track About You
Catherine Crump
MY COMMENTS********************************************************
OK. There are bad guys and girls out there. Why are multitudes of police and law enforcement tracking the good guys?
Many of the surveillance techniques being used by the police, kept by the police and utilized by the police seem to just end up being a constant monitoring presence for all. When Catherine Crump mentioned the license plate monitors, I first thought of the ones I had seen recently in Yonkers New York. They are attached to the back of police units and basically read plates as the mobile unit goes about its daily routine. If it sees a car with expired plates, stolen plates, unregistered, whatever, the alarm built in goes off and the officer stops his unit and goes back to see who the offender is. of course, no one would think that a plate with no problem is recorded as well. Its time and place of where it is gets cataloged as well. Why? What have they done besides "be somewhere"?
This is the type of monitoring that we as a people must question and ask. Every time one of these equipped cars goes by it knows what plate (car) was where and records this information. Good, bad, Democrat, Republican, it makes no difference. Good honorable law abiding citizens are marked, listed, and categorized for no reason. We are being watched.
